Day 1: Tbilisi – Omalo
Trip from Tbilisi to Tusheti. Arrival in Telavi though the beautiful Gombori pass (1822m), Continue driving along the Alasani valley by passing the beautiful villages of Kakheti region. On the way visit Alaverdi Monastery(11c). The road to Tusheti starts from the village pshaveli, Leads deep into the beautiful gorge of the Stori River and then rises up a breathtaking serpentine above the Great Caucasus Ridge and cross it over Abano pass at an elevation 2926 meters. Along the way we pass wonderful scenery and see the most beautiful landscapes of Great Caucasus Ridge - amazing alpine meadows, snowy mountain pikes, glaciers. (In good weather condition we can arrange louch over the Abano Pass). Through the mountainous road we reach village Omalo - the provincial center of Tusheti. Short brake and then walking aroud the village Omalo, see the sights of the village, visit Kesalo fortress and Ethnographic Museum of Tusheti. Overnight in Omalo at the comfortable guesthouse (D.L.)
Day 2: Omalo - Shenako – Ageurta - Diklo - Bichekhi - Tbilisi
Early morning, after breakfast we drive to the direction Chagma Gorge. At first we visit village Shenako, Explore surroundings of the village, walking to the village Ageurta from where we have beautiful panoramic views on the Chaghma Gorge. Continue the way by Driving to village Diklo. Enjoying with the impressionable summit of Mountain Diklo. Walking to the Bichekhi hill, Where is located memorial monument Old Diklo, from this point we is also visible the border landmark with Dagestan (Russia). Have a lunch nearby village Diklo. Return by the same way to Omalo and then depart to Tbilisi.(B.D.L)
