Simple itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Tbilisi
Arrival in Tbilisi. Meeting at the airport. Transfer to the hotel.
Night in Tbilisi. (If time permits short City tour)
Day 2: Tbilisi to David Gareji Monastery and Signagi
We travel to Kakheti province and visit David Gareji Monastery and walk up to Udabno Monastery. These contain ancient frescos and fine cave architecture. Drive to hill-tow Signagi, sightseeing around the town.
Overnight in Signagi at the comfortable Guesthouse.
Day 3: Signagi – Omalo.
Trip from Signagi directly to Tusheti. On the way short stop at Alaverdi Monastery (XIcc) and after continue the way to Tusheti. The mountain road is steep and rough, Along the way we pass wonderful forest then open mountain scenery. Have a lunch in nature nearby pass. We cross Abano pass at an elevation 2976m and then descend to the mountainous Tusheti province. We reach Omalo village (2100m) approximately 5-6hr and after short rest sightseeing around village Omalo, Visit kesalo fortress and ethnographical museum of Tusheti.
Overnight in Omalo at the comfortable Guesthouse. Dinner with national dishes and Georgian wine.
Day 4: Omalo – Dartlo – Parsma – Girevi.
We start our trek in the early morning after breakfast. We pass Pirikita-Gometsari Watershed Range Gonta. Along the way visit some beautiful sites of Tusheti – Que and Gele. Gele in traditional Tusheti was a place, where all communities of four valleys had meetings. The route goes along the north slope of the Watershed range Gonta. It gradually drops down on the foot of the ridge, Crossing Alazani River by bridge and Arrive in village Dartlo. Dartlo attracts its visitors with its ancient architectural assembly and impressive landscape that is why the village is included in the world’s Cultural Heritage of UNESCO. Explore surroundings of the village and continue the way along the Pirikiti Valley. Along the way we pass through villages Chesho, Parsma and Girevi.

Day 5: Girevi – Kvakhidi
Start trek early morning at 8 am. Continue our trek from the village Girevi along Hatsunta-Alazani Gorge, we pass abandoned village Chontio – Which is the last village in Pirikiti valley, and continue towards to our campsite at Kvakhidi (2400m). The path goes up through the alpine meadows along the river, From where we have spectacular views and impressive surroundings.
Overnight in Tents at Kvakhidi place.
Day 6: Cross the Atsunta Pass (3431m) On this day we have little bit hard trek. We start early morning. The path gradually goes up through alpine meadows along the head of Hatsunta river. Then rising up on the grassy slopes with some scree sections to the Atsunta Pass and at the elevation 3431m we cross the pass. from the top we have unforgettable views of the surrounding summits including the deep canyons of Khevsureti and Tusheti, Excellent views of mount Tebulo 4500m. Descend to our campsite at 2400m, overnight in Tents.
Day 7: Camp to Ardoti - 5 hours We descend on a good path to Khevsureti province and the Andaki river gorge where we camp near the village Ardoti, 1850m. The village, almost uninhabited now, dates back to the 10th. Along the way we have excellent views of Mt. Tebulo, 4500m.
Day 8: Ardoti to Shatili - 6 hours walking. On the way to beautifully located Shatili we pass some villages and monuments, the most famous and impressive is the partly destroyed medieval fortress of Mutso located on a steep hill where we have a short excursion. The narrow gorge of Andaki Valley leads to Shatili (1400m) where we end of our trek. Shatili village-citadel is one of the highlights of Georgia, with its mighty towers standing proudly in Arguni river valley for 1200 years. We have accommodation at the Guesthouse and then visit the fortress. Shatili is inhabited year round and ancient cultures and traditions are still preserved by the locals.
Day 9: Shatili to Tbilisi Drive to Tbilisi first crossing Datvis Jvari Pass (2676m) then following the deep Aragvi gorge to join the Georgian Military Highway. We follow this to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia, where we visit 6th century Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century). Continue drive to Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi at the Hotel. End Tour.
