Simple itinerary:
Day 1: Tbilisi – Omalo
Trip to Tusheti. Along the way we’ll visit Alaverdi Monastery.
Arrival in the village Omalo by crossing the Main Caucasian Ridge at Abano Pass (2926m.). Short sightseeing around village Omalo - visit Kesalo fortress and ethnographical museum of Tusheti.
Overnight in Omalo at the Comfortable Guesthouse.
Day 2: Omalo – Shenako – Ageurta – Diklo – Old Diklo
This day of travel we’ll see the most beautiful villages of Tusheti Shenako, Diklo and ruins of villages Ageurta and old Diklo.
After breakfast Drive by car to the direction village Shenako along the Chagma valley. Arrive in village Shenako(2080m) from where we start hiking to the directions. Explore surroundings of the village Shenako, Visit old church of Holy Trinity (19c) and ancient brewery of the village. Easy hikeing to the direction ancient village Ageurta and then continue our way to the village Diklo. Along the way to old Diklo we will pass through Alpine meadows and will see most beautiful views of Diklo Mountain 4285m.
Return to the village Shenako the same way. Overnight in Shenako at the Guesthouse
Day 3: Shenako - Dartlo - Tbilisi
After breakfast continue our trip. We drive to the Pirikiti valley to visit village Museum Dartlo. En route visit some of the beautiful sites of Tusheti – Que and after Gele, Enjoying with its beautiful views and then continue the way to the direction Dartlo. Village Dartlo With its ancient well preserved traditional architecture is included in the list of protection of UNESCO. Short sightseeing around the village -visit Dartlo community stone Court, see ancient pictograms on the stone wall of the towers and castle houses, listening stories about towers bravely standing in the heart of the village and then after lunch depart to Tbilisi. End Tour.
