Three Gorges

Abano Pass

1Day: Tbilisi – Omalo, Tusheti(L.D)
We begin our Trip from Tbilisi, Arrive in Telavi though the beautiful Gombori pass (1822m), On the way visit Alaverdi Monastery 11c (short excursion). The road to Tusheti begins from the village Pshaveli, It runs deep into the beautiful gorge of the Stori River and then rises in a breathtaking serpentine above the main Caucasus ridge, Crossing it over Abano passage at the elevation 2926m and descent to the wonderful Tusheti canyon. It is quite extreme journey requiring a vehicle with cross-country capacity and a highly skilled driver, but the sight to be seen beyond Abano pass – Highest car pass in Georgia, is a worthy reward for any traveler. In the good weather condition we begin cycling from the Abano pass, We get down into the beautiful Tusheti canyon, Along the way we pass wonderful scenery and see the most beautiful landscapes of Caucasian Mountain - alpine meadows, snowy pikes, glaciers. The cycling lasts about two hours (Aprx. 16-18km) and then we continue the way by car. Through the mountainous road we reach village Omalo - the provincial center of Tusheti. Accommodation and after short brake walking around the village Omalo, visit the sights of the village - Kesalo fortress and Ethnographic Museum of Tusheti. Overnight in Omalo at the comfortable guesthouse (D.L.)

Dartlo

2 Day: Omalo – Pirikiti Gorge, Dartlo - Chesho– Parsma (B.L.D)
A fantastic biking day is ahead of us. After breakfast, we start cycling through the dirty car way following Chaghma Gorege. We descent from upper Omalo to the field nearby Que and then gradually ascent to the Pirikiti-Gometsari watershed ridge over Ghele, (on the way visit some beautiful sites of Tushet Que then Ghele - have short walking 30 - 1hr). From Ghele we have fantastic downhill through the beautiful mixed forest into the Piriciti gorge, Arriving in Dartlo . The village and its architectural monuments are included in the World’s Cultural Heritage of UNESCO. Explore surroundings of the village Dartlo. Visit ancient stone court and observe towers and dwelling houses with ancient petroglyphs on it. From the village Dartlo we follow the Pirikiti Alazani River by passing unique ancient villages of Tusheti: Chesho, Parsma, Girevi. (Optional walking from Parsma to village Girevi: 30-1hrs). Survey surroundings of the villages Parsma and Girevi, Lunch nearby village Parsma and then the same way back to village Omalo. Overnight in Omalo at the same Guesthouse, Dinner with national dishes and Georgian Chacha or Wine. (B.L.D)

Parsma

3 Day: Omalo – Gometsari Gorge, Bochorna – Dochu – Beghela - Iliurta(B.D.L)
Today we have fantastic downhill ride to the beautiful Gometsari Gorge. After breakfast we begin cycling across rough and dirty car way from Omalo and descent through the short serpentine to the field nearby Que. From here we gradually ascent to the field Mirgvela where the roads of Chagma, Pirikiti and Gometsari gorges meet and then continue to gometsari gorge. The way runs on the slope of Makratela ridge at about the elevation 2300 meters and slowly descents into the gorge, the way presents impressionable views and wonderful landscapes. Continue the way by passing ancient villages of Tusheti: Bochorna (2350m) - one of the highest inhabited village in Georgia, Village Dochu up to day attracts the visitors with its ancient well-preserved dwelling houses. At last we will visit village Iliurta, Explore surroundings of the village, Visit Church of saint Gorge (19c) beautifully standing in the heart of the village. After lunch we return by the same way back to Omalo. Overnight in Omalo at the same Guesthouse (B.D.L)

Diklo

4 Day: Omalo – Chaghma gorge, Shenako – Diklo (B.L.D)
Early morning, after breakfast a fantastic downhill ride start our day. We cycle a dirt road following the Chagma Gorge. From the upper Omalo (el. 2100m) we descent through the dense pine forest into the gorge until the river Alazani and then uphill to the village shenako. Explore surroundings of the village, visit Church of holy Trinity (19c), Cycle to the village Ageurta from where we have picturesque panoramic views on the Chagma Gorge. Continue the way through the dirty car road to village Diklo. Here we have a slight ascent and descent. Along the way enjoying with impressionable views of the Mount Diklo. From the Diklo cycling across the pathway to the ancient ruined village - memorial monument Old Diklo - from where we can see the border with a Russia. Have a lunch nearby village Diklo. Return by the same way to Omalo. Overnight in Omalo at the same Guesthouse. (B.D.L)

Bochorna

5 Day: Omalo - Tbilisi (B.D)
Today after breakfast we begin driving back to Tbilisi. En route in Kakheti visit Shuamta monastery (6-16c). have a lunch at restaurant Shuamta. Arriving in Tbilisi, End tour.
